PRO Neighborhods

Memphis led a resident-driven, neighborhood-based process to develop a new City-wide plan that would create opportunity for more Memphians to thrive. More than 15,000 residents and dozens of community partners engaged in this process. The resulting Memphis 3.0 plan identifies priorities, strategies and anchors in individual neighborhoods. Residents in Frayser and Whitehaven, two neighborhoods featured in the plan, identified priorities that include addressing blighted/vacant properties; promoting quality, affordable housing to support homeownership; and improving the small business ecosystem to encourage local spending. Given the Memphis CDFI Network’s relationships in these communities, we are partnering with local leaders and organizations to align our development finance tools to help them achieve these goals.
